My story

I first used a sewing machine when I was five years old. I can still see its ornate beauty and hear the smooth, pulsating rhythm of the foot pedal. I often miss the cold feel of the shiny wheel. Everything in my grandma’s house, she had made herself, even the rugs, and I loved it all, and I cared for it. But the best were the colourful bobbins and shiny buttons that I constantly played with, arranged and rearranged in the tiny sliding drawers. The sewing machine cabinet was also my dollhouse, my palace and my hiding place.

I’ve been in and out of various jobs and numerous short-lived hobbies but my passion for arts and crafts has always stayed. It truly is le fil rouge that holds all my pieces together.

I no longer have to choose between career success and family life. It was motherhood that decided it for me and gave me more time to do what I love. Sewing is now my spa treatment, my daily reboot, the thing that nurtures my soul and helps me be the best possible version of myself. And since our children learn by example, we all strive to give them the best one. I want my child to play it big but also play it fair. I want her to understand unity, acceptance, equality and respect.

Finally I have the privilege of sharing my creations with a broader audience. Creating this website felt like time travel, it was challenging, but super exciting and gratifying. A proof that no skill once acquired ever gets lost.

I dedicate this site to my father, who always encouraged my creative endeavours, to my daughter, who is my inspiration and to the all the babies, who are our hope.

Now that we have already crossed paths, do share your thoughts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram.
